Floating conference room

The conversion of an old Schulthiess brewery in Berlin into a modern office environment left the public very interested in what this historical building has to offer.

An element which caught my attention was the floating keg shaped conference room which is elevated 4metres above the employees heads. This structure was constructed out of a delicate steel frame and glass which emphasizes the cathedral light effect from above.

ok...so I realize this is long after the hand in of our 3d rooms on AutoCad, nevertheless I'll be posting it anyway! This is unfortunately the best I could get the replication of the original image, Its pretty clear that I battled with the lighting quality of this image...wel see how the 3d max export at the end of this month compares to this one!

Visit to Pretoria

Hi there... Yesterday I was lucky enough to visit the hpc in Pretoria where I got shown around the facilities and briefed on the amazing functions it has to offer. I was able to explore the minds of top athletes in training while watching top female athlete Caster Semenya training on Tukkies grounds. I must say that I have the utmost respect for the enrolled students of the hpc where their daily routine consists of waking up at 5:00, training for 2 hours, eating breakfast, going to varsity, eating lunch, training for 3/4 hours, eating supper, doing varsity work and sleeping...and this is repeated 365 days a year...what a life!

I'm currently busy with technical drawings for technology and finalizing the theories which will be incorporated into the design of Apex. Hold thumbs that the space planning is a successful exercise!:)

Exhibition Space

This weeks task was to design an exhibition space for our thesis topic, I really enjoyed finally starting the design process for the year! My aim is to create a space which is dynamic, energetic, pure, simplistic and modern...one which encompasses a sculptural expression.
